In June 2026, representatives of Viu el Teatre visited Germany for the first time to explore the country’s performing arts ecosystem for children and young audiences. The visit aimed to establish new professional connections, promote Viu el Teatre’s productions and educational programmes, and foster future opportunities for international collaboration.
The delegation, comprising Distribution Manager Clara Fontdevila, Head of Education Xavier Flores and Project Manager Gisela Juanet, attended the Westwind Festival in Münster and carried out a professional visit to Düsseldorf.
During the festival, the team attended seven productions for young audiences, gaining valuable insight into current artistic practices, programming models and creative trends within Germany’s performing arts sector. They also took part in a round-table discussion focused on improving access to the performing arts in rural communities, exchanging experiences and perspectives with professionals from across the sector.
The visit also included a meeting at Junges Schauspiel Düsseldorf, the largest theatre dedicated exclusively to children and young audiences in North Rhine-Westphalia and one of Germany’s leading institutions in the field. The delegation explored the theatre’s facilities, organisational model, artistic programme and educational work while exchanging ideas on audience engagement and discussing opportunities for future cooperation.
This first professional visit marks an important step in Viu el Teatre’s internationalisation strategy. By strengthening relationships with European organisations and sharing knowledge and good practices, we continue to expand our network and reinforce our commitment to high-quality performing arts for children and young audiences.
