On 21 November, Viu el Teatre presents a free performance inviting audiences to see their surroundings in a new light.

What might our street look like if we stopped and really paid attention to it? On 21 November, Viu el Teatre presents El meu carrer at Turó Park in Barcelona, with free admission. Through visual and sound-based theatre, the show invites children and adults to reflect on sustainability, the passage of time, and the ways our everyday actions shape the world around us.

Lola, a curious girl watching the world change

The story follows Lola, a ten-year-old girl who observes her street from her balcony. Through her grandmother’s memories, she discovers what it was like in the past: cleaner air, different routines, and a slower pace of life. But the street changes, bringing new sounds, more cars, technology, and a growing sense of hurry.

Curious and almost scientific in her approach, Lola begins asking questions about air, water, and noise. Everyday acts — hanging out the washing, watering plants, or chatting with neighbours — become a way to explore community life and care for the planet.

Theatre to imagine a better future

Combining puppetry, music, and objects, El meu carrer creates a visual and sound-rich world exploring intergenerational connections, memory, and our impact on the planet. By the end, the balcony becomes a living garden filled with memories and possibilities for the future.

The show aims to encourage environmental awareness and invite audiences to rethink everyday habits in order to imagine streets that are more sustainable and welcoming.

A Viu el Teatre production

Written by Alícia Serrat, directed by Xavier Flores, and performed by Cris Codina, the production grows out of observations of street life, intergenerational testimonies, and a creative process combining different stage languages with visual and sound materials.
