HOP! Stories of lost objects is a show in which two people meet and propose to share a journey through objects to explore different experiences where emotions, senses and imagination play, and where family, friendship, loss and happiness are the main themes that explain our little stories. Our memories. Our childhood.

This Viu el Teatre production stars Queralt Albinyana/Bealia Guerra and Jordi Llordella/Xavier Flores and is directed by Gisela Juanet. It is a journey into childhood memories, inspired by A Little Story by Andy Manley and Ania Michaelis of the Scottish organisation Starcatchers and the German organisation Theatre ON, who advised and accompanied the creative process of the Mediterranean version. This was the first international collaboration in the creative field of Viu el Teatre’s projects, in addition to the exhibition field that we have been working on for several years.

The show has been recommended in the Programa.cat of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, praised by theatre critics (see Jaume Forés’ review in Núvol or Recomana. cat), has been nominated for best family show at the Teatre Barcelona Awards, has been selected for the pitching sessions of the PAMS 2024 festival (Performing Arts Market in Seoul) and has been part of the programme of cultural events such as FETEN (Gijón International Performing Arts Fair for Children and Families), the Castilla y León Ciudad Rodrigo Theatre Fair, the COS Festival of Reus, the Anem al Teatre, among others. This season it has also reached the Teatro Principal in Palma de Mallorca and the Teatro Calderón in Valladolid, as well as nearby towns such as Palafrugell, Vilafranca del Penedès, Tarragona, Vilanova del Camí, Piera, Capellades, Sant Andreu de la Barca, Roda de Ter, and theatres such as the Teatro Principal in Vilanova, the Municipal Ateneo in Igualada, the Mercè Rodoreda’s and the Romea in Barcelona, as part of the Romea en família cycle.

Viu el Teatre is delighted that a show of proximity and poetry that tells us about life through objects, such as HOP! Stories of Lost Objects will welcome more than 5000 children and families during the 2023-2024 season. We thank all the people and organisations involved in the entire value chain who have made this possible.

We are already preparing the tour for the next season 2024-2025: see you in the theatre!
